Welcome to the preparation for the Diet & Nutrition Session.

Hi Cathy,

Welcome to the preparation for the Diet & Nutrition Session. The first session is coming up soon - Thursday, 4/10 5:30 - 7:00 PM. Since 5:30 is rush hour on Hwy 305, please allow enough time to drive here and arrive on time.

Please start a journal of everything that you eat each day between now and the 10th. (It doesn’t have to be in hard copy, it can be online - whatever works for you.) Keep track of approximate amounts too, for instance, one cup green tea, etc. If you have to record everything at the end of the day, try to remember all the foods and drinks. This is your record and no one will be looking at it. It’s a tool for you to learn from.

Also, please take some notes on the following questions:

1) How do you think about eating: Is eating something you “have to do”? Or something which you relish? Or something in between?
2) Does eating provide you with a sense of joy, a sense of obligation, or something else? Elaborate on your response.
3) How does your body respond to you eating something nourishing? (Answer this question from a feeling level rather than a thought level.)
4) Write down 3 things you hope will happen as a result of taking the Diet & Nutrition Session.

You’ll have an opportunity to discuss your responses to the above questions during the first session, if you like.

Our first meeting is Thursday, April 10th 5:30 - 7:00 PM. There will be handouts of major learning points. Feel free to bring a notebook to take additional notes if you like.

Please wear comfortable, layered clothing since we’ll be doing some Chi Kung exercises to enhance digestion. And please bring your $125 fee payment. Also below is a suggestion for heightened mindfulness when coming to BIOM. Please try it and if you like it, use it as a practice for each visit you make to BIOM.

When you put on your coat or jacket to begin your journey to BIOM, take a moment to notice how you are doing it and what is going on around you.



– When you get in your car, pause momentarily before turning the key to again notice your surroundings and how you feel.



– Pay attention to being in the moment as you travel along the road.



– When you turn onto the road toward BIOM from the highway, turn off any music or radio and again refocus on being in the moment.



– As you turn into the drive to approach BIOM, allow your awareness to expand into the Nature around you. Drive up the road consciously.



– As you park and take the path toward the door, be aware of your actions and steps.



– Before entering, sound the gong and receive its resonance to help you leave the world and worries outside.



– Come in, quietly remove your shoes, turn them toward the door, (a symbolic act, telling yourself that your mundane concerns, are not what you’ve come to address at the Diet & Nutrition session); take a seat, and



– Feel Welcome.
