The Tai Chi for Gardeners program is designed to help increase the strength of your body and soothe your mind. It offers essential skill-building for the gardening work you need and want to do today, and throughout each season of your life. There are two ways to experience Tai Chi for Gardeners: Full Program Sampler Essential skill-building for the gardening work you need and want to do today, and throughout each season of your life. Full Program Since each season presents us with a unique set of garden delights and challenges, Tai Chi for Gardeners is offered in seasonal sessions so we can explore, understand, and blend with the energetic elements unique to each season of the year. Each session includes three pre-scheduled, 90 minute meetings, with additional opportunities to have your questions answered between sessions by email or phone. What to Expect Here are some of the things you can expect from the Tai Chi for Gardeners program: Prework Prior to getting together you’ll receive via email some suggestions for how to do a self-assessment of your current level of gardening fitness, along with a method for bringing into view a clearer vision of the garden you’re creating. Working Together In a private, one-on-one atmosphere, you’ll learn how to loosen up using Tai Chi Chi Kung to ground yourself so the seeds of Tai Chi awareness can germinate in you. Then, through exploring how you use your body to perform basic gardening movements, a specific Tai Chi garden experience that meets your specific needs begins to take shape. Back to top Sampler If you’re not able to commit to the three pre-scheduled, 90 minute meetings, a ‘sampler’ is available for you to get a ‘felt-sense’ of what the full Tai Chi for Gardeners program has to offer. This is an opportunity to experience ‘Tai Chi awareness,’ which is the core experience of the Tai Chi for Gardeners method. The ‘sampler’ also includes simple techniques for safely lowering yourself down to the ground and up again, in ways that strengthen your legs and improve your balance. Additionally, you’ll also enjoy a series of stretches that can improve your gardening experience — and overall health. (Note: The Tai Chi for Gardeners ‘sampler’ cannot be substituted for one of the three meetings that comprise the full Tai Chi for Gardeners program.)
