Acupuncture is not at all like the type of injection you’ve probably had that forces medication into the tissue by pressure.
The method of acupuncture most people are familiar with uses a very flexible, hair-thin needle that is inserted just through the skin to stimulate the point and encourage the smooth flow of energy to the internal organs.
If you have an aversion to needles, you can still enjoy the benefits of acupuncture through “needle-less’ methods.
Needle-less acupuncture works on the same points, and along the same meridians as would be used with needles, but tiny gold beads, or a specially formulated gel are used instead.
This tiny gold bead is about the size of a head of a pin, covered by a tiny piece of clear adhesive tape, and is placed right on the point.
Because the bead provides very mild pressure, and because gold enhances the flow of energy, you get a very mild stimulation at that particular point, which helps the energy move along the meridian.
